Terms & Conditions
Effective date: June 3, 2026 · Last updated: June 3, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of cleanimages.online (the "Site") and the CleanImages in-browser image metadata tool (the "Service"), both operated by ToolsNet.Work ("CleanImages," "we," "us," or "our"), a company based in Ontario, Canada.
By accessing or using the Site or the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or the Service.
1. The Service
CleanImages is a free tool that lets you inspect and remove metadata from your image files — including location data, camera and device details, timestamps, EXIF/IPTC/XMP data, AI-generation tags, content credentials, and embedded thumbnails.
All image processing happens entirely within your browser, on your own device. Your images are never uploaded to or received by us. No account is required to use the Service — signing in is optional — and the Service is provided free of charge. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If the law in your location sets a higher minimum age for consent to data processing, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Service, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
3. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the images you process using the Service and for your use of any output. In particular, you confirm that you have the legal right to process and modify each image you use with the Service, and that doing so does not violate anyone else's rights or any applicable law.
If you choose to create an optional account, you are responsible for the activity that occurs under it and for keeping access to your sign-in method (such as your email inbox) secure.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service:
- for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose, or to facilitate such activity by others;
- to remove or alter metadata, provenance information, or content credentials in order to misrepresent the origin or authenticity of an image where doing so would be unlawful, fraudulent, or in breach of another party's rights;
- to infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
- to interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, the Service, or any related systems; or
- to copy, resell, or commercially redistribute the Service itself as your own.
CleanImages is a privacy tool. We make no claim that removing metadata makes an image anonymous, untraceable, or undetectable as AI-generated, and the Service must not be relied upon for any such purpose (see Section 5).
5. No warranty
THE SITE AND THE SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that:
- the Service will remove all metadata or hidden data from every file or file format, in every case;
- a cleaned image is anonymous, untraceable, or undetectable as AI-generated — modern detection methods can analyze the image pixels themselves, which the Service does not change for the purpose of evading detection;
- output quality will be identical in all cases — most formats are processed losslessly, but some (such as GIF and certain others) fall back to a re-encode that may re-compress the image, as indicated in the Service; or
- the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.
You are responsible for verifying that an image meets your needs before sharing or relying on it.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ToolsNet.Work and its officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, privacy, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Site or the Service. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including certain consumer-protection rights.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ToolsNet.Work and its representatives from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms or of applicable law.
8. Intellectual property
The Site, the Service, and all related software, design, text, and branding (including the CleanImages name and logo) are owned by ToolsNet.Work and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without permission.
Your images and their content remain entirely yours. We claim no rights over them — and, because they are never transmitted to us, we never receive or hold them in any case.
9. Third-party links
The Site, including our blog, may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We do not control and are not responsible for those sites or their content, and links do not imply endorsement.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site or the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own place of residence.
12. General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
